What we do, and what we do not
A leak leaves two problems behind. The first is the leak itself, and that belongs to a plumber or a roofer. The second is the ceiling or the wall — stained, soft, sometimes sagging — and that is the part we put right.
We are painters and drywall finishers, not a water extraction or mold remediation company. Once the source is fixed and the area is properly dry, we cut out what is damaged, put new board in, match the texture and repaint so the repair does not announce itself. If we open a wall and find something that needs a different trade first, we will tell you straight away rather than covering it up.
What we bring to it
Cutting back to sound material
Wet drywall does not recover, and painting over it only hides the problem for a season. We cut back to dry, sound board and framing, square the opening, and replace what came out.
Sealing the stain properly
Water stains bleed through ordinary paint no matter how many coats go on. Every stained area gets a stain-blocking primer before any finish coat, which is why the repair still looks right a year later.
Matching the texture
A flat patch in a knockdown or orange-peel ceiling is as obvious as the stain was. We match the existing texture across the repair and feather it out so the line disappears.
Repainting so it disappears
We repaint to a natural break — a full ceiling, a full wall, corner to corner — rather than spot-painting a square that will always catch the light differently. We record the product, color and sheen for the room so a future touch-up matches.

Common questions
Do you fix the leak as well?
No — we do not do plumbing or roofing. The source has to be fixed and the area dried out before we start, or the repair will fail. If you have not found the source yet, get that sorted first; we are happy to look at the damage in the meantime and tell you what the repair involves.
How do I know if the drywall needs replacing or just repainting?
If the board is soft, sagging, crumbling at the edges or has visible mold growth, it is coming out. If it is dry, firm and only stained, a stain-blocking primer and paint will usually do it. We will tell you which one you are looking at when we see it.
Will the repair be visible afterwards?
Not if the texture is matched and the surface repainted to a natural break. That is the whole point of the texture-matching step, and it is where most quick patch jobs give themselves away.
Do you work with insurance claims?
We can provide a written estimate that you are welcome to submit to your insurer, and many customers do exactly that. We do not handle the claim itself or bill an insurer directly.
