What good cabinet painting actually involves
Replacing kitchen cabinets is one of the most expensive things you can do to a house. Refinishing solid, well-built boxes gets you most of the visual change for a small share of the cost — provided it is done as a refinishing job and not as a painting job.
That means degreasing properly (kitchen cabinets carry years of cooking film), scuff-sanding every face, using a bonding primer, and spraying rather than brushing so there is no brush texture on a surface your hands touch daily.

Degrease before anything else
Cabinet doors carry cooking residue that will reject any coating. We clean them down before a single abrasive touches them.
Sprayed, not brushed
Doors and drawer fronts come off and get sprayed flat for a smooth, even finish with no brush marks and no sags.
Hard-wearing cabinet coatings
We use coatings formulated to cure hard on cabinetry, so they stand up to fingernails, cleaning products and daily use.
Labelled and reassembled
Every door, drawer and hinge is labelled so it goes back exactly where it came from and closes the way it did before.

How long is my kitchen out of action?
Typically three to five days for a standard kitchen. The boxes stay in place so you keep your storage; it is the doors and drawer fronts that leave for spraying and come back at the end.
Will the finish chip?
Not if the prep is right and the coating is a genuine cabinet coating. The failures people describe usually come from wall paint applied over greasy, unsanded doors. Our cabinet work carries the same written workmanship warranty.
Can you paint oak cabinets without the grain showing?
Yes, but it takes extra steps — a grain filler and additional sanding between coats. We will tell you honestly what your doors will look like before you commit, and price both options.
Is refinishing really cheaper than replacing?
Substantially, in most kitchens, as long as the cabinet boxes are structurally sound. If your boxes are failing, we will say so rather than paint over a problem.
